The European Vaishnava Festival 2008, Verbania -Lake Maggiore, from 23rd to 29th of June 2008 (arrival day 22nd after 4.00 pm and departure day 30th before 12.00 am), will be held at the Collegio Santa Maria (Hotel Castagnola), Verbania, Northern Italy.
This venue is situated in a beautiful location on the shore of Lago Maggiore in the Italian Alps and it is easily accessible by train, road and plane. There are many good facilities, rooms with private bathroom, air conditioned and telephone, one new small gimnasium for sleeping bags, and a big camping place for tents.
How to reach Verbania:
By
road:
From Milano (80 km) on Highways A8/ E62 andA26/E62 via GALLARATE,
SESTO CALENDE, direction GRAVELLONA TOCE, exit STRESA - BAVENO. When
out of the highway take road S.S. 34 towards Verbania-Intra, before
reaching the lake side look out for and follow the sign COLLEGIO
SANTA MARIA pointing to the right. Through a narrow street you reach
the Collegio and Hotel Castagnola. From Switzerland and Germany:
reach Bellinzona and then turn to Italian border. From France:
Follow always direction Milano and then follow direction A26
GRAVELLONA TOCE exit STRESA/BAVENO.
By airplane:
Milano Malpensa airport is about 50 Km by road from Verbania. There
is a regular bus/train schedule from the airport to
Verbania-Pallanza.
At Malpensa airport are flying the following companies: Easy-jet (from
Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Malaga, Paris), Germanwings (from
Koln-Bonn e St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Vienna, Istambul, Helsinki
via Koln), Vueling (from Barcelona, Madrid e Valencia) and many
more. For those coming from the US the direct flights to Malpensa
are from: New York, Miami and Houston. From L.A and S. Francisco
only via London, Paris or
Frankfurt.
To all the devotees arriving in Italy by flight for the European
Festival 2008. Here is the main schedule for the buses leaving from
Milan Malpensa on 22nd of June 2008 to the venue: 12,00am - 15,00pm
- 18,00pm - 21,30pm.
Milan Malpensa Terminal 2 outside arrivals 'BUS COMAZZI'. Milan
Malpensa Terminal 1 Stall n. 12 outside arrivals 'BUS Comazzi'. From
Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport outside arrivals 'BUS COMAZZI' 23nd
June at 11,30am.
For those who are arriving at Malpensa airport on different days,
please book your seat at 0039-0323-552172 at least before 11,00am
the day before your departure. The bus will be named 'ALIBUS'
leaving from
Stall n. 22 outside the arrivals at Malpensa Terminal 1.
The schedule of the departures is as follow:
7,30am - 10,30am - 14,30pm -
17,30pm - 20,30pm. Your stop at Verbania is: Pallanza Piazza Gramsci,
from there walking distance 10 minutes from the venue.
Please inform us of your arrival time on 22nd in order to book your
seat on the right bus.
From Milano Linate airport buses leave approximately every 30
minutes for Milano Railway Stazione Centrale (tickets on bus) all
day long. From Milano/FF.SS Stazione Centrale (about 80 km) the
trains run every hour, nearly . Take the train direction DOMODOSSOLA
(via GALLARATE, ARONA - about 8 Euros) to VERBANIA. See also:

From Bergamo Orio to Serio Airport take the bus to Milano Stazione
Centrale running every hour and once there take the train direction
Domodossola (via Gallarate, Arona) to Verbania.
By train:
Before taking on the train, remember to stamp your ticket with the
small yellow machine by the platform entrance. Some trains (Eurocity
or Intercity) need a supplementary payment. We will organize a
pick-up service from Verbania railway station for the 22nd afternoon
and 23rd afternoon. Please e-mail us about your arrival time. There
is also an ASPAN bus service at the Verbania-Intra railway station
to coincide with the trains. Ask to get off for the Castagnola
Hotel/Collegio S. Maria.
